Local Producers
Are you passionate about locally-produced food? Then the newly formed Small Farms Committee is for you! This committee is being sponsored by Dakota Rural Action, a grassroots farm group with a new office in Rapid
City. The group's goals are to increase local food production and to enhance marketing opportunities for local growers. The committee has been meeting regularly in Rapid City to plan an Earth Day event at Breadroot Co-op, as well as a Local Foods Summit later this summer. Long-time Breadroot member Michael Melius is a member of the committee.
