News

Breadroot will be closed on Thursday, November 26th for Thanksgiving. With our wonderful volunteers and members, we have much to be thankful for.

The UNFI and Albert's deliveries for Thanksgiving week have an altered schedule. Please note that for Thanksgiving week, orders must be received by Saturday, November 21st for delivery on Tuesday, November 24th. There is still time to order for your celebrations! Breadroot is stocked up on traditional foods for your convenience.

The organic and all-natural turkey's for Thanksgiving will be arriving on Thursday, November 19th! The new freezer will be operational just-in-time for the arrival of the turkey's. More to be Thankful for!

Breadroot Board of Directors elections are this month. Members can apply for nomination until November 15th, with voting from November 16th to the 30th. Nominees will be displayed with their campaign slogans at Breadroot for voting. Each Breadroot membership is allowed one vote. Board member requirements and obligations are available at the store.

Upcoming Special Orders

With so many suppliers to choose from, we now offer a table for perusing our supplier catalogs - UNFI (staple foods, bulk and packaged), Frontier Herbs, Lotus Light (personal care products), and more! Help yourself to a free cup of coffee or tea and take a look - monthly specials catalogs are also available. Sign-up sheets for the Thanksgiving turkey and stainless-steel drink bottles from the Green Bottle company are in the red folder. Coming soon: sign up to order fesh dates from "The Date People" of California, health and beauty products from Lotus Light, Spry gum, or Zum soap.

Events

Breadroot Member Appreciation Days will be held on the second Saturday of each month, with food samples and demonstrations. Come to enjoy Breadroot and our latest products on Saturday, November 14th!

Store Information

REACH Program – affordable, highly nutritious food:

If you are looking to improve your health and your wallet at the same time, look no further! Our REACH program features 12 "super foods" available at cost. We offer this program as a way to strengthen our community, with an emphasis on optimal nutrition. The REACH discounts apply to everyone, even non-members! So tell your friends and neighbors where they can get the healthiest food at fair prices. REACH items include: raw almonds, Romaine lettuce, kale, grapefruit, flax seeds, alfalfa sprouting seeds, short-grain brown rice, dried navy beans, dried plums, kelp flakes, and yams (seasonal products may vary).

Discounts for Members:

In-Store Merchandise discounts: All Breadroot Members receive 5% off in-store purchases and can place special orders from our suppliers via our web site, with ordering by the case at wholesale plus a $3 handling fee! Members can receive a 10% in-store discount by purchasing in-store $100 within a one-month period, or by adding $100 to your prepay account. Additional savings can be earned by volunteering - Ask our friendly volunteers for details!

News Groups:
News groups - Breadroot has email groups to keep our community involved and aware. You can check out our selection (news, discussion, ordering, etc) and subscribe to your favorites from your log-in page (from www.breadroot.com, select member log-in and log-in with your user name and password, then go to your member information page).

We have a "breadroot-food-health" group for recipes and health topics. The breadroot-discuss group is aimed at discussing the cooperative policies and operation. You can join the -food-health group by logging in and selecting "member", and the news groups are listed under the Account heading, with the option to subscribe just a click away!

Do you love Breadroot as much as we do? We could use a few more volunteers - and as a bonus you receive a discount on in-store purchases (up to 25% off!) and order at wholesale. We can find a job to suit your talents!
